Raleigh-based entrepreneur and educator Valerie K. Fields was elected president of the Women’s Forum of North Carolina at the organization’s annual meeting on May 17.
Fields has been a member of the Women’s Forum since 2006 and served on the board of directors and executive committee as treasurer and vice president. She is the owner of V.K. Fields & Co. PR PROS, a full-service public relations agency in downtown Raleigh and also a faculty member in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC-Chapel Hill. In 2004, she also founded the Millionaires in Training (MiT) youth entrepreneurship program.
The Women’s Forum of North Carolina held its annual meeting at the Campbell University Law School in downtown Raleigh, and featured guest speaker retired N.C. Supreme Court Justice Patricia Timmons-Goodson. The annual meeting theme was “Pioneering Women,” and also included a panel with the charter members of the organization, which was founded in 1976.
