The Forum has been instrumental in starting two projects that further its mission to achieve equality and maintain social, economic and political power for women.
NC Women Matter, formed by Forum members in late 2011, is continuing its work to educate and energize women voters across the state. Its most recent project is a one-day training, planning, and networking conference, bringing together individuals and representatives from nearly 30 organizations across the state. Subscribe to their e-newsletter to hear about future plans.
The NC Center for Women in Public Service was founded as a joint project of the Forum and Peace College (now William Peace University) in 2003 to prepare women to seek and serve in elected and appointed public office. Earlier this year, it merged with the Institute of Political Leadership. Its well-regarded summer institute will continue as a project of IOPL.
