What is the best career decision that you have made?

Joining the Youth Advocacy and Involvement Office as a Child Advocate.   This position gave me the ability to use my counseling skills and my attorney skills to help families with problems in many areas of their lives.  I felt like I made a positive difference in their lives.

If you had to do it over again, what would you do differently?

I would have stayed at the NC State Bar rather than moving to the NC Industrial Commission.

How have women helped further your career?

Betty McCain helped me in many ways to find jobs in state government and she mentored me to be the person I am.  Carol Spruill helped me with the NC Association of Women Attorneys and the Women’s Forum North Carolina to be better connected in the profession.
