Update on Getting out the Female Vote

Continuing the Discussion – Getting out the Female Vote in 2012

An enthusiastic group of Forum members met on Wednesday evening, December 7th to continue the discussion begun at our October general membership meeting.  Braving extremely heavy rain and rush hour traffic, members spent a productive 2 hours getting updated on Forum involvement in a coalition of organizations that will focus on getting out the female vote in 2012 and taking Forum planning to the next level.

Forum member, Florry Glasser, has been doing the research.  The numbers are very telling.

  • 2004 General Election female voter turnout – 1,827,079 of the 3,019,112 registered female voters (60.5%)
  • 2008 General Election female voter turnout – 2,382,081 of the 3,279,424 registered female voters (72.6%)
